FloorLiner vs FloorLiner HP: See What Sets Them Apart

Why is WeatherTech FloorLiner better than factory floor mats (OEM)?

Factory floor mats (or OEM mats) simply can’t compete with the comprehensive protection and durability of WeatherTech FloorLiner. While OEM mats offer basic coverage, FloorLiner goes beyond with full-perimeter defense, superior material quality and proudly American craftsmanship.

FloorLiner exceeds OEM quality beyond the physical product. Our liner is never out of stock and covers a wide swath of vehicle makes and models going back decades. The dealership makes as few mats as possible to cover as many models as possible. While dealerships specialize in selling vehicles, we specialize in designing mats - it’s our bread and butter. That passion and expertise is reflected in the product that makes it into customer’s cars.

Feature WeatherTech FloorLiner OEM Factory Floor Mats

Warranty Limited lifetime warranty. Limited 1–2 year warranty is common.

How does WeatherTech FloorLiner protect your

WeatherTech FloorLiner delivers OEM-superior protection through advanced laser-measurement technology that captures every contour of your vehicle’s footwell. Unlike universal-fit mats that leave gaps where dirt, water and debris can reach your original carpet, FloorLiner provides complete coverage: protecting the bottom, front, back and sides of your car’s interior.

Each FloorLiner is constructed from a patented, proprietary thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) blend that delivers rigid core strength with just enough flexibility to mold to your vehicle’s unique floor footprint. This precision-engineered material contains no latex, PVCs, cadmium or lead, and is 100% recyclable.

The raised lip design traps drink spills, tracked-in snow, mud, sand and rain, keeping moisture away from your carpet and preventing mold, mildew and rust. When it’s time to clean, simply remove the liner, shake it out and hose it down. No scrubbing required! We recommend our TechCare Cleaner and Protector Kit for fresh liners all year round.

Are product colors shown on screen an exact match?
On-screen product colors may not be precise representations due to variance in monitor calibrations.
Is this product latex free?
Yes! All Floor Mats, household mats and coasters are made from our advanced Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), which is virtually odorless, contains no harmful PVCs, phthalate, BPA, cadmium or lead and is 100% recyclable

What does “1st Row” mean?
"1st Row" means the first, or front row of seating, driver and passenger side. Your set will include both pieces, unless it is a single-piece design.
What does “3rd Row” mean?
"3rd Row" refers to the row of seats immediately behind the second row of seating. Your set will include pieces for both driver’s side and passenger side 3rd row seating, unless it is a single piece design.
What does the quantity (QTY) selector change?
The Quantity selector on the website does not determine the number of individual products to purchase, but rather the number of total product sets you will receive upon purchase. To change your selected product set, simply select one of the images under the "Select Your Set" heading in Step 1. This will allow you to purchase a full or partial set depending on your selection.
Will this product fade or discolor when exposed to UV?
Absolutely not, this product’s color will not fade nor will it change when exposed to UV radiation!
The WeatherTech logo gel label detached from my product. Can I get replacements?
Yes! If for some reason the gel label(s) become detached, please notify our customer service team and we will ship out replacement labels at no charge to you.
Why is my driver’s side dead pedal/ footrest only partially covered?
We strive to offer as much protection to the vehicle floor as possible. There are inherent limitations in the manufacturing process that may limit the height of some walls on a specific application.
How do I remove the FloorLiners from my car?
Some vehicles utilize posts, snaps, hooks-and-loops, as well as other retention devices that require a 90-degree twist to remove-and-install. Please refer to your vehicle owner’s manual for the proper instructions on the use of your particular vehicle’s floor mat retention system. Once identified, refer to the instructions supplied with your FloorLiners or mats.
Can I purchase only the driver’s side?
No. The FloorLiners are only sold in pairs or complete sets.
Why doesn’t the FloorLiner cover the door sill on my vehicle?
Our Floorliners are manufactured to fit flush or cover the door sill when the vehicle’s sill is level with the floor. If the vehicle is designed with a well-shaped floor space, the FloorLiner will rise up to and along the door sill, but not cover it completely.
BMW: How do I remove my hook-and-loop (Velcro) retention system and replace it with your hooks?
BMW uses a hook-and-loop system for retaining their carpet mat. It is typically mounted to a socket in the floor by a 90-degree twist. Rotate counter-clockwise and lift to remove. To reinstall, rotate retention system clockwise with a downward push. When replacing the original system, please retain the devices with your original carpet floor mats. Again – always refer to the vehicle owner’s manual and your WeatherTech instructions for questions - or refer to our website.
Why aren’t all rear FloorLiners one piece?
We strive to offer the most protection possible for the vehicle footwell. Some designs allow for a one-piece, over-the-hump liner, and others present limitations that require a two-piece design. The fitment notes and images on our website generally show whether the part is a one-piece or two individual pieces.
If there are designated trim lines, does that void my warranty if I use them?
It does not, some product variations require customers to trim their FloorLiners for the best possible fit.
Are WeatherTech FloorLiners stain-resistant?
Yes! FloorLiners will resist staining, however routine maintenance is recommended to prolong the life and integrity of the product. We recommend using the TechCare FloorLiner and FloorMat Cleaner/Protector Kit to maximize the longevity of your FloorLiner.
Will FloorLiners fit handicap-accessible vehicles?
Due to the high level of modification found in these vehicles we can make no guarantees of the fitment of our parts in handicap-accessible vehicles.
My floor is flat; why does it say “over the hump”?
"Over the hump" in this case simply means the FloorLiner fits as one-piece door-to-door.
Why don’t you make FloorLiners for all vehicles?
The FloorLiner was first developed in 2005, and our efforts have been dedicated to developing applications for popular models from 2005 to current. If you do not see an application for your vehicle, please visit our New Product Updates Form and WeatherTech will let you know when new products are available for your vehicle.
What’s the difference between the FloorLiner HP, FloorLiners and All-Weather Floor Mats?
FloorLiner HP is made from a flexible rubber-type mat that drapes over the floor area and features standing walls that cover the front, back and sides of the vehicle floor. The FloorLiners are a floor covering with standing walls that go up the front, back, and sides of the vehicle floor. The All-Weather Floor Mat is a custom two-dimensional floor mat that covers the floor only and is a great solution that’s a bit less expensive. The FloorLiners are made out of a harder, more rigid material, and the FloorLiner HP and All-Weather Mats are made out of a softer, more flexible material. All three will protect the carpet and contain spills; however, FloorLiner HP is truly the next generation of FloorLiner.
Do I have to trim my FloorLiners?
Some vehicles have options (i.e. speakers and subwoofers) that may interfere with the design of the product. In these instances, we incorporate trim lines to accommodate those options affected.
Can I put the FloorLiners on top of or under my factory mats?
No. The removal of the factory mats is IMPERATIVE for proper installation. Failure to remove factory mats will result in an improper fit, which will likely create interference with vehicle controls, resulting in an unsafe condition for operating the vehicle.
How should I clean my FloorLiners?
Our TechCare FloorLiner and FloorMat Cleaner is great for cleaning this product! You can also use a mild household detergent. Do not clean with harsh chemicals or use silicone-based protectants (such as Armor All®).
Is the product image shown an exact match to my vehicle?
In many cases, yes. However, vehicle images may sometimes be marked as “representative.” Not all vehicle photos may match the year, make and model you have selected from the vehicle selector menu.
